Level languages classification
Official exams (D.E.L.E)
Basic user (A1)
The student understands simple structures and uses every day expressions. He/she will be able to communicate at a basic level and answer questions about possessions, people he/she knows, where he/she lives, etc. The student will be able to interact with other people in a simple way.
Basic user (A2)
The student understands and creates sentences related to personal subjects, relatives, purchases, local geography, likes and dislikes, work...The student will communicate in every day situations that require a direct information exchange. He/she will be able to talk about experiences and subjects which are related to immediate necessities.
Independent user (B1)
At this level the students will be able to understand different linguistic situations that a person faces when travelling to the places where the Catalan language is spoken. He/she will express opinions on present time subjects and describe experiences, future plans and wishes.
Independent user (B2)
At this level the student is able to talk not only about concrete topics but also about abstract ideas; he/she is able to speak fluently with Catalan native speakers and use informal language, idioms and collocations. Thanks to his/her fluency the students is able to write about his/her opinions, letters, for and against etc.
Experienced user (C1)
Students at this level are able to express themselves fluently on a wide variety of subjects. Their fluency allows them to be spontaneous when communicating. The language used in their writing is varied and rich with many connectors and complex vocabulary.
Experienced user (C2)
Students express themselves naturally on any subject and are capable of switching between formal and informal language without confusing the two. The students are fluent and even distinguish subtle changes of meaning in the most complex situations.
